Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 3: Question 2

Sometimes, when I imagine the stress that I am going through at home alone, trying to put my house in order by cleaning places, cooking, ensuring that there is water, going on errands, still doing cooking and a lot of work myself as a bachelor, I wonder what it would be like when I get married and my wife then gets pregnant.

Hmmm, this means the workload would be too much for me; trying to put my house in order and still go to work is something I cannot do alone, but I would employ the service of a domestic robot when it is affordable and reliable.

Definitely, when domestic robots become cheap enough and reliable, I would definitely buy one for my home to assist me in doing household chores. The robots would serve as a home servant and intelligent home assistant in my home. With the robot, I would have time for myself, and things would become less stressful for me to do, which would in turn improve my health.

What I would Want the Robot to be Able to do

Domestic robot doing house chores

  • The first thing I would want the robot to be able to do at home is to clean the home, like sweep, mop, dust, tidy rooms, and vacuum.

  • The second would be doing laundry services, like collecting clothes, sorting them, washing and drying them, ironing, and folding them.

  • The third would be kitchen assistance, like helping me to prepare simple meals, washing dirty dishes, and keeping the kitchen clean.

  • The fourth would be acting as home security, like monitoring unusual activity in the home and alerting me of any wrongdoing in the home.

  • The fifth would be acting like an AI assistant, like answering questions, controlling lights, TV, and other appliances in my home.

When I think they will become widely available and affordable

I can't accurately predict the exact date, but I can only guess based on how fast things are going in the world. My guess for these is:

  • 2022 to 2029 is for early adopters and for people who are wealthy and lovers of technology.

  • 2030 to 2025 there would be a lot of robots that are capable and affordable.

  • 2035 to 2040 would be the period when middle-class income earners could start purchasing domestic robots, and there would be more companies manufacturing robots by then

  • 2040 and above, domestic robots could become normal in almost every household, just like almost every household has a washing machine and a refrigerator.

Sort:

@josepha, Robots are certainly excellent helpers, but one thing worries me: what will we do if a robot takes over all the household chores? Will we actively engage in sports and read more books?
I’d like to ask how you would plan your day if you had a robot assistant at home that handled everything you didn't want to do yourself?

Yes, sir, domestic robots are certainly excellent helpers, as one wouldn't have to remind a robot of its task/dut,y unlike humans. Thank you for your support. #s34engagement

Of course, your decision to buy a robot is absolutely right. Everyone wants to live their life with ease. As you wrote in your post, there should be a robot that can help you with your household chores, clean, wash clothes, and cook. I also want a robot that can help me with my chores, help me cook, and help me clean.

At least with a domestic robot, I can buy my time and improve my health and others'. Thanks for your support. #s34engagement

Exactly sure improving family life and the time family spends together, and many more, are what a domestic robot would do. Thank you for your support. #s34engagement

Greetings, friend @josepha

I share your perspective on acquiring a home robot; when the budget allows, one can purchase and use it just as you described in your post: acting as a smart assistant and a household helper. This would free up time for your personal matters and make chores less stressful, contributing greatly to your overall well-being.

I wish you much success.

I believe it's the desire of almost everyone to own a domestic robot, but finance is the constraints to the reason why a lot of people haven't done so. Thank you for your support. #s34engagement

Undoubtedly, the economic aspect has played a significant role in the decision to purchase a home robot; and while it would be fantastic to own one, the cost is its biggest drawback.

Good luck.
