Steemit Update [September 30th, 2026] : Community Curators for October
Following significant community interest, October has seen the return of individual applications for anyone wanting to become a Community Curator.
A total of 45 people put in applications for a place on one of the eleven teams, each with three members.
As always making the team selections has been challenging. For anyone who hasn’t been selected this time, don’t be discouraged. Take note of any comments left by sc01 on your application posts and prepare well for next month - post regularly, comment often and think carefully about where you cast your votes.

Over the past couple of weeks @dove11 has published several posts discussing Community Curator selection. These have generated some useful and interesting discussion amongst the community…
Some of the ideas generated in the discussion around these posts have already been absorbed into the new Community Curation application and selection process.
We will be looking toward ongoing evolution as more suggestions are put forward and more ideas are trialled.
For October teams of three have been chosen. With only 45 applications it would have been difficult to have larger teams as not all applicants quite met the grade.
Several people expressed interest in larger teams of four or five. One of those, @stef1, has a particularly demanding job as a surgeon. @sergeyk was also interested in a larger team size. If all parties agree we would therefore like to suggest that @stef1 join the team of @sergeyk, @dove11 and @josepha. This will be a useful test of a slightly larger team size.
Curation Guidelines
All teams will be free to vote on any posts or comments as long as they are not plagiarized or AI generated.
We encourage teams to vote on comments as well as posts.
Teams should not vote on authors who are currently powering down.
The @steemcurator accounts should only be used for voting and commenting. They should not be used for downvoting or making posts.
A comment should be left on each post voted to let the author know the post has been supported by the curation team - and please include which member of the team selected the post.
How the Curation Teams will be rewarded
Every day the teams will be allowed to allocate one full vote to a team member’s post - ideally in rotation.
Additionally each week one member should post a report for the team in the Steem POD community with a list of their top 7 posts or comments, with a brief note of why each was chosen.
These weekly report posts should set beneficiaries to be shared with other members of the team.
The posts will be voted by @steemcurator01.
Teams should ideally not chose posts by other Community Curators among their weekly selections.
We strongly encourage teams to ensure all members review and agree on the merits of the selected posts of the week as poor choices may influence the reward given to the weekly report by @steemcurator01.
October will be a very interesting month for the Community Curator program.
We will be watching closely how the new team selection system works.
This coming month will very much be an experiment. We welcome any feedback and suggestions.

Witness @ety001 and the Steemit Development Team are working hard on a complete refactoring of the steemit.com platform. The new Wallet is the first output from the development work.

Also, @dove11 mentioned that he is hospitalised for 10 days and @josepha commented that he is happy to have me in Team4, if you are happy then we could start three of us the work.
I would suggest that we still keep a possibility that if @dove11 recovers during this month then we could continue working 4 of us.

Hi @dove11, I am sorry to hear that you need to be in hospital hope it is nothing serious and you will get better soon. I have noticed that @Steemitblog advised a trial of 4 our team with @josepha and @sergeyk, I am happy to join as I mentioned before October is less busy month for me from time point of view.
I also would suggest that we still keep you in our group just incase if you recover by mid month, you can join our group, I hope others members of team are also agree with that.
We can set up a team of 3–4 members, and @dove11 is welcome to join us mid-month. We've started discussing this on Discord.

Thank you for taking all the comments of many users as reflection to the call for feedback about the selection of curators, it is a process that is always changing and developing because we are all different but while mixing the group of people into different group we may spread the changes to others and that will hopefully help to develop the best way of curation.
It was noticeable that the wallet is now active!!! Thanks to development team for implementing that. I would also suggest that if there are any news of changes if “Steemitblog” account will time to time announce them in your posts, because it is now established as well known “Announcement Board”
