Kiba/Dinaka – The Sepedi Traditional Dance

Kiba/Dinaka – The Sepedi Traditional Dance
Kiba/Dinaka is a Sepedi traditional song-dance performed by males using pipes and drums. 🏴🥁🇿🇦
These men wear Scottish kilts that tell a tale of the alleged Pedi warriors' victory against the Scottish in the 1800s. Other versions say the Pedis wear the kilts because it's regimental.
This dance is an age-old tradition—representing the rhythm of malopo (transcendental Pedi dancing) and often likened by scholars to a type of Haka for the military precision with which it is performed.
A dance of warriors, rhythm, and pride.
