In my entire life I only received a DKTP shot as a child (11 years old most likely).
I find it strange to give these shots to adults, there's totally no need to. Humans have an immune system.
It sounds more like an act of the vet, always sending reminders to let your pets vaccinated (the reason why owners visit them and next are strangled in the web of checking the pet and paying for all the extras).
