I am here to share the latest updates and additions we brought to https://worldbites.app/, to make the user experience smoother.
If you check us out now, you will notice a lot of changes due mainly to our re-structuring since opening our doors to past, present and even future post of Steem Atlas.
This integration itself will take some time, but we are fine with that. We are here for the long run...
Let me share the recent updates we brought the last days!
Steemeet 1 on 1 Direct Messaging
Steemeet Private Chat : Designed an encrypted, 1 on 1 direct messaging system for Steemeet.
Users can search any Steem account and exchange real time private messages secured via Steem memo keys or signed custom_json events.
Editor & Comment UX Upgrades
Comment Live Preview : Added a real-time markdown preview box directly underneath the comment text area so users see their formatted comments before posting.
Auto Embedding Direct Image Links : Standardized all text fields (Post Editor, Comments, Steemeet Chat) to automatically parse raw image URLs (.jpg, .png, .webp, .gif) and render them as inline images.
Automated @user Hyperlinking : Added regex parsing to convert any @username mention into an interactive link directing straight to that creator's WorldBites profile.
Feed & Map Synchronization Fixes
"Latest Pinned Posts" Data Synchronization : Fixed the backend query bug where posts published directly through the WorldBites frontend with geo pins appeared on the Map but failed to list in the homepage feed.
Multi-Source Ingestion & Cache Updates : Unified the feed query to inspect both WorldBites native posts and posts tagged via #steem-atlas, while enforcing immediate cache revalidation upon post creation.
Map Interaction & Cluster Drawer :
Single Pin Precision : Maintained standard single click behavior on individual location pins to instantly open the full WorldBites post review card.
Right Hand Cluster Sidebar : Configured map cluster numbers so that clicking any number intercepts the default map zoom and opens a spacious right side drawer.
Drawer Functionality
- Displays a full scrollable list of all posts inside that specific geographic cluster.
- Automatically closes when clicking open map space, or dynamically updates when clicking a different cluster number.
