SteemHop: A New Season Begins ... how long should one play?

A new season of SteemHop starts today at midnight GMT—that is 6:00 PM Mountain Time—and I have to decide if I should play. It looks like 1 hour and 30 minutes from now.

The game gives players 30 games every twelve hours. I could get 60 games a day if I played at 6:00PM and 6:00AM. The secret to maximizing one's score is to plan your with 2 playing sessions that are 12 hours apart.

NOTE: there is generally some slippage because the games have to be 12 hours apart.

A game takes at most two minutes. A single session takes 30*2 = 60 minutes. Two sessions a day consumes 2 hours.

As I recall a season last 10 days. A full season might consume 20 hours. That is a lot of time.

If I played a full season; I might make it into the top three slots on the leaderboard. If the competition is lean, I might end in position 2 which pays 55 STEEM. 55 STEEM is about $2.40.

A twenty hour investment returns $2.40.

My time is worth more that.

The @steemhop.org has been extremely generous with upvotes. People who play the game and write informative posts with the #steemhop tag might get a generous upvote.

I see that the #steemhop tag has started attracting low quality posts and spam.

Overall, I think that SteemHop is a great game for users on SteemIt as it provides newbies a chance to earn some steem and receive a payment on posts.

One trick to writing a good post is to include positive suggestions for the game.

I suggest adding a links page

I believe that @steemhop.org could improve the community by adding a links page to the steemhop.org web. The page could link to official news and official posts about the game. The page might use the url steemhop.org/links or perhaps steemhop.org/news .

There are numerous pages posts that link to steemhop.org. There would be an SEO benefit if the site had links back to steemit.com.

It would also be nice if the site had a rules page, faq page or suggestion page. For example, I did not realize until recently that I could see a broader playing field by resizing my screen with ctrl+ .

SteemHop Season 23 will begin shortly. Players get 30 games every 12 hours. One can get a high score by scheduling their day with two one hour sessions 12 hours apart.

I am contemplating this possibility, but really don't want to spend 20 hours playing a game.
