What is up, Steemians!
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a fiction writer who lives in the high-stakes world of dark romance decides to cross paths with the decentralized web, you're about to find out. My name is Ikakeabasi Silas, though my pen name is Shining Star.
Today marks my official debut on Steemit. Instead of rolling out a stiff, resume-style "Hello World" introduction, I figured the best way to introduce myself is to pull back the curtain and show you what a genuine day in my universe looks like.
Grab whatever you're drinking, get comfortable, and let's dive in.
Phase 1: Wrestling Fictional Characters (The Day Job)
By trade and by passion, I am a web novel author. I spend a significant chunk of my life swimming in the deep end of billionaire and dark romance. There is a very specific kind of chaos that comes with sitting down in front of a blank document and calmly deciding which fictional character is going to suffer heartbreak next for the sake of reader entertainment.
Between drafting new chapters for my novel Contracted To The Devil and managing translations, my brain is basically a 24/7 soap opera production studio. Just to prove I actually write fiction and don't just stare at a blinking cursor, here is an out-of-context teaser from my current work-in-progress:
"Some contracts are signed with ink," she whispered, watching the paper catch the dim lamplight. "Ours was written in something much heavier."
Phase 2: The Digital Rabbit Hole
By afternoon, my focus usually takes a sharp left turn. One minute I'm checking author dashboards and performance metrics, and the next I'm deep-diving into the TON blockchain and poking around Telegram mini-apps.
I’m also the kind of person who can lose hours researching obscure historical trivia or hunting down public domain archival footage because a stray thought sparked an idea for a short-form video script. For me, creation isn't just a linear path—it’s a web of writing, tech exploring, and storytelling.
Phase 3: Choose Your Own Adventure (Interactive Ending)
Since this is my very first post here, I wanted to do something a little different and get to know this community. I have a few different directions I can take my next posts, and you get to choose what I write about next.
Drop a comment below voting for one of these options:
Option A: The psychology behind why readers love toxic book boyfriends (and how to write them effectively).
Option B: The wildest historical survival stories and obscure trivia that inspired my short-form video projects.
Option C: A transparent behind-the-scenes look at publishing and serializing fiction on modern platforms.
Whichever option gets the most love in the comments will be the topic of my next drop!
Say hello, drop a comment, and let me know what brought you to Steemit. Let's build something great together!
Upvote, resteem, and see you in the comments!
I love you all🤍
