Steemit Update [September 7th, 2026] : Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 3

in #steemitchallenge11 days ago

The new format of the Steemit Challenge seems to be going well.

It is good to see so many people starting so many conversations on so many posts.

The weekly choice posts are also proving popular, and the AI challenge question generated a good number of interesting responses.

This is encouraging us to continue with this general format for a few more weeks.

Season 34 : Recap

So far in this season there have been five ways to participate in the Challenge to earn votes - Engagement, Improvement, Guides, Weekly Choices and the weekly Challenge Question.

The Engagement comments, the Weekly Choice posts and the weekly Challenge Question have all worked particularly well so these will continue.

The Improvement comments have been less popular but they should be continued as they help improve the overall quality levels on the platform. To encourage more people to make useful #s34improvement comments the sc01/02 votes on good comments will be increased significantly.

The Guides have run their course so these will be discontinued as part of the Challenge for now.

Season 34 : Weekly Challenge Questions

As our first Challenge Question last week on AI proved popular we are going to double up and put out two Questions this week.

The two Questions are quite different to give maximum appeal. You are welcome to take on one or both - just make separate posts if you answer both questions.

The Challenge Questions this week…

Question 1

Imagine the Steemit Team is visiting your town and you have the opportunity to invite them to a picnic. Where would you hold the picnic, and what food would you provide to show off your local food culture? Are there any other local Steemians you would invite to the picnic? You can also make up the shopping list and show us where you will buy the food if you want.
There will be five people in the Steemit Team, and none are vegetarian.

For this Challenge Question use the tag #s34challenge002a.

Question 2

If domestic robots become cheap enough, would you buy one for your home?
What would you want the robot to be able to do, and when do you think they will become widely available and affordable?

For this Challenge Question use the tag #s34challenge002b.

These Challenge Questions will remain open until 11:59pm UTC on Sunday, September 13th, 2026.

We particularly want people to start #s34engagement discussions on the Challenge Question posts.

Tags Usage

There is quite a lot of misuse of tags. This won’t get anyone extra votes and is more likely to lead to posts being missed.

The following are the correct ways to use the tags…

#s34engagement - only for comments starting a discussion on posts

#s34improvement - only for comments suggesting improvements on posts

#s34weekly - only for posts with people’s selections of the week

#s34challenge002a - only for posts answering this week’s Challenge Question 1.

#s34challenge002b - only for posts answering this week’s Challenge Question 2.

Weekly Choice Posts

This week for your Weekly Choice Posts you can select six posts in total.

For your six posts you should select two Diary Games, two Contests and two Challenge Question posts.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in Season 34 so far.

As we are now in week 3 of this new format season we are very interested to hear from people what they think of this format. What works, what doesn’t.

Your feedback will help determine how we move forward with the Steemit Challenge.

Thank you

The Steemit Team

I wanted to bring something to your attention: the team handling @booming04 is updating only about six to seven posts on average per day—sometimes six, sometimes ten. Meanwhile, @booming01 handles the gaming sector, where gaming content is shared daily and everyone receives upvotes. However, those of us creating videos—myself included—haven't received any upvotes for the past 10–12 days. I create content that teaches unique and practical skills on this platform, such as video editing and AI-related topics. I hope you will extend your support to those of us producing high-quality video content for the platform. Thank you. @steemcurator01

@marvinvelasquez, @alejos7ven & @mamun123456 - what is happening with your voting with @booming04 ?

You do not appear to have voted for nearly a day.

My apologies. It was @alejos7ven's turn, but he ran into a problem. I'll take his place.

Thank you

Your team and 'booming03' provided excellent feedback and guidance to the writers—and actively participated in voting—during the first two days (September 1st and 2nd). However, since the 3rd, there has been a lack of diligence in your work; I even spoke to the person you mentioned in your comment regarding this matter, but they offered no response. Creating a video is a challenging task; it takes me roughly two hours to produce a video on a typical topic. I hope you will support everyone and provide constructive guidance to those who make mistakes, helping them understand where they went wrong. It seems that once you curate someone, you completely forget about them. During those first two days, I thought a positive change had finally come to this platform, but you have proven that assumption wrong.

Hi, how can I help you?

I have been little busy with some university stuff, and I am finishing a trip now. Btw, I have not even commented in my last turn because of it but I have this activity scheduled to do soon so no worries, the comments will be posted.

Things will be normal this week as this extraordinary activities will end this afternoon. Thanks

I think the change is very important for gaining interest because the last Steemit Challenge was mostly based on the Steem Atlas contests, which was causing users to lose interest. I like this change, but many users still don’t understand how to get rewards from the Steemit team, or who will be the winner, etc.

With this update, users now have different ways to participate: engagement posts on 2 topics, a nomination post, and engagement + improvement comments to earn rewards.

I think the Steemit Challenge should continue this way until users start showing more interest. I’m sure from this week more users will take part in Steemit Challenge 34.

This initiative is great in that these themes will continue to be relevant. Many people are becoming quite active on the platform using this method. It is undoubtedly a matter of joy.

Thank you very much for giving us this update. This proves that we will create a separate post for each separate question. Both challenge questions are very interesting and many new ideas will be seen. Steemians will invite you to their home town and present their culture also.

Thank you for the update. I really like the new format, especially the focus on engagement and improvement. It is also great to see that the Improvement comments will continue, as I believe constructive suggestions can help Steemians improve the quality of their posts.

During the previous week, I made several #s34improvement comments while trying to give useful and practical suggestions to Steemians. I have also shared a short summary of the comments and the areas I focused on.

Here is the link to my weekly summary:
https://steemit.com/story-on-steem/@sohanurrahman/s34improvement-weekly-summary-or-helping-steemians-improve-their-posts

If you have some time, I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my comments and let me know whether my approach is appropriate for the Improvement category. Any suggestions or feedback from the Steemit Team would be very welcome and would help me improve my comments in the coming weeks.

Thank you again for continuing this initiative and for giving us the opportunity to contribute to improving the quality of content on Steem.
