Thomas Hardy’s Cottage
Thomas Hardy was born in 1840 in this small cob and thatch cottage, which was built by his great-grandfather in 1800 and has barely been altered since the family left. it was from this very cottage that he wrote several of his early short stories, poetry and novels including ‘Under the Greenwood Tree’ and ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’. Hardy went on to become one of the most renowned writers in English literature, during his lifetime he published 14 novels, 49 short stories and close to 1000 poems. #hardyscottage #dorset #hardy #thomashardy

Ese cottage de barro y paja de 1800 está increíble, mochilo, pensar que Hardy escribió ahí "Far from the Madding Crowd" le da otra mística al lugar. ¿Se puede entrar a ver el interior o solo se recorre por afuera?
Ese techo de paja y barro construido en 1800 y que sigue casi igual, miren eso, es un privilegio que se conserve así. Y pensar que de una casita tan humilde salieron 'Far from the Madding Crowd' y casi 1000 poemas, increíble.
