Season 34 : Week 6 Challenge Questions: Question 1 //( My small but dearly loved rooftop garden.)

I hope everyone is doing well. Today, I am happy to participate in Steemit Challenge Season 34 – Week 6, and I have chosen the first challenge question, “How Does Your Garden Grow?”
Have you got a garden?
Living in the city means that I do not have enough space or land for large-scale gardening. That is why I have created a small rooftop garden at my home. Although the space is not very large, this little garden holds great significance for me. I have planted various types of fruit, vegetable, and flowering plants there. I tend to focus more on growing vegetables than fruit or flowering plants because I really enjoy eating fresh vegetables that I have grown with my own hands.
Do you spend much time tending the garden? Are you a keen gardener?

I love gardening very much. However, establishing this small garden was by no means easy for me. Since suitable soil for planting is not readily available in the city, I had to buy it from a nursery. Then, I had to carry all that soil up to the roof of our seven-story building, which was truly an arduous task. From purchasing and transporting the soil to preparing it for the plants, every step required a great deal of hard work.

I try to water and tend to my plants every afternoon, although I dedicate a little more time to them on weekends. During this time, I clear away weeds, remove withered leaves and branches, and apply fertilizer whenever a plant needs it.
Additionally, instead of throwing away the vegetable peels left over from my daily cooking, I place them around the base of my plants in the afternoon. During the monsoon season, I make it a routine to go up to the rooftop and check on my plants after it rains. I also look to see if any pots or plants have been knocked out of place by heavy rain or strong winds. If I find a plant or pot that has fallen over, I carefully pick it up and put it back in its original position.
I mostly use organic fertilizer made from my daily vegetable scraps in my rooftop garden. I have not used any chemical fertilizers so far. Spending time caring for my plants brings me genuine joy and gives me a wonderful opportunity to stay connected with nature.

I have planted various types of native fruit, flower, and vegetable seedlings in the pots of my rooftop garden. However, I personally prefer growing vegetables over flowers and fruit trees, as I find great joy in harvesting fresh vegetables from plants that I have nurtured myself and then using them in my cooking.

I generally try to plant vegetables according to the season. During winter, I am particularly interested in growing tomatoes and green chilies. During the warmer months, I plant seeds for bitter gourd, eggplant, sweet pumpkin, and Malabar spinach.
My rooftop garden also features several types of herbal plants, notably Tulsi (holy basil), Thankuni (Asiatic pennywort), and mint. When my children suffer from colds or coughs, I sometimes give them Tulsi leaf juice. I also use fresh mint leaves to prepare different kinds of refreshing drinks, which are especially enjoyable on hot days.

Although I currently have a small rooftop garden, it is quite limited in size. Due to the lack of space, I cannot plant as many trees and vegetables as I would like, despite my desire to do so.
If I am able to build my own home in the future, I would love to create a much larger garden. I would like to grow a variety of native fruits, flowers, seasonal vegetables, and herbal plants. I also want to produce fresh and safe vegetables for my family.
With sufficient space, I would be able to grow different kinds of plants according to my preferences and needs. I would also like to add more flowering plants because flowers can make the whole garden look more beautiful, colorful, and refreshing.Most importantly, I want my future garden to be a peaceful place where I can spend time caring for my plants and stay close to nature.
I like the fact that you don't only have flowers in your garden, but you also have fruit in your garden. I like the lemon and tomato. From all what I have seen, you are really spending time taking good care of your garden which is while all the flowers and fruits are looking fresh. Wishing you good luck. #s34engagement

I really enjoy harvesting vegetables from my own plants to cook with, and the resulting meals taste far more delicious to me. That is why I prioritize vegetable plants in my rooftop garden. Besides, certain fruit trees require a relatively larger amount of soil.

The day I bought soil from the nursery for my garden, I had to work extremely hard all day to haul it up to the roof; I carried the soil up in stages. I love working in my rooftop garden. I use various vegetable scraps, so I rarely need to rely on chemical fertilizers purchased from outside.

It is wonderful that you have a small rooftop garden, one you tend to with great care, and where you have successfully grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers. However, you prefer growing vegetables over flowers or fruit trees, as harvesting them fresh allows you to use them in your cooking something that brings you great satisfaction.

I believe many people enjoy gardening. However, not everyone has the opportunity to cultivate a small garden and prioritize their passion while tending to it. Personally, even though gardening involves some hard work, I do it with love, and it brings great peace to my mind.

My friend, there is nothing more spectacular than eating produce harvested right at home.
Tomatoes are perfect; a couple of years ago, I had a very prolific cherry tomato plant that was well-tended—it was the talk of the house. Having them felt like a luxury, and eating them was even better.
I didn't plant eggplants this year, but they are excellent—just like zucchini; they are among my favorites.
Even people living in cities find ways to grow their own crops, and organic fertilizer is a must. May your garden be blessed, my friend.

I obtained the eggplant seeds from my mother-in-law, who grows this specific variety; I brought the seeds back and planted them. These eggplants taste delicious when cooked with either fresh fish or dried fish.

Me imagino subiste mucha tierra para poder poner en tus portones y sembrar como tú querías.
Las tierras fértiles las conseguimos con mucho esfuerzo y dedicación.
Tener tomates hermosas quiere decir que has echo bien tu trabajo, limon Berenjenas y aparte maticas de flores.
Espero dentro de unos meses estar así también con un buen jardín y hermosos frutos.

Looking at the pictures of your rooftop garden, I can imagine how beautiful your roof garden must be. Surely, people who love nature truly understand its value. A lush, green, and beautiful garden is not only soothing to the eyes but also brings happiness and peace to the heart.

There are likely very few people who do not love nature. However, not everyone has the opportunity to be close to it; for those living in concrete cities where life often becomes increasingly mechanical a rooftop garden can serve as a peaceful sanctuary.
