According to recent official reports and a memorandum submitted to the UN Security Council, shocking details have emerged regarding the humanitarian crisis and systemic violations inside the "Debris" (Dagreece) prison, located southwest of Nyala in South Darfur.

The facility, which was originally established in 2015 as an alternative to the old Nyala federal prison, is currently facing extreme overcrowding, holding thousands of detainees far beyond its planned capacity.
