Political Party Leaders in Central Aceh Arrested During Methamphetamine Party

TAKENGON - The Central Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) arrested five residents who were found together and suspected of being involved in methamphetamine abuse.

One of the five arrested, identified as RA, is a senior official in the Central Aceh Nasdem Party and an active member of the party.

RA and four of his associates were arrested at a house in Paya Tumpi Village, Kebayakan District, Central Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, on Wednesday evening (September 10, 2026).

The Head of the Central Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, First Inspector Bambang Pelis, S.H., M.H., stated that the arrests stemmed from information from the public, who raided the five at a house in the Paya Tumpi area.

During a search of the location, officers found several pieces of evidence, including a bong, a lighter, suspected to be used for methamphetamine consumption, and several modified bottles of mineral water.

During interrogation, the five individuals admitted to having recently used the illicit substances, although no evidence of methamphetamine residue was found at the scene.

The individual arrested, identified as RA, was identified as being with four other individuals: one man and three women.

Initial examinations and urine tests on the five individuals yielded positive results.

The Central Aceh Police have now handed over the five individuals to the Bireuen National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) for further processing.
