A walk along the water's edge.
A walk along the water's edge.
All the most interesting things happen at the border between two worlds, land and water, and tailors probably called this border "the edge."
Any border is no place for jokes, and it's there that the most dangerous things can happen. That's why I don't really like walking along curbs like a tightrope walker and try to be careful on lakeshores; the water's edge is usually the most treacherous and slippery spot.
And that's where most falls happen.
The water's edge always stays dry. Lol, you wouldn't blame it if you slipped and got your feet wet.
Perhaps sometimes we need the water's edge to hide the real state of things, giving us the opportunity to be wise and not get too close.
