Inctober 2026: 11.10 - 11. Rescue
Greetings to everyone on this beautiful Sunday; even the fog outside cannot dampen the mood, for today is a momentous day for millions of people—a day when each of them comes to church to give glory to the One who granted them salvation at the cost of His own shed blood: Jesus Christ.
That is why, when I saw the theme "Rescue" for the Inktober 2026 challenge, I didn't hesitate for a second about what I would draw.
I must admit, however, that I am a poor portrait artist; it would have been far easier for me to depict a kitten that had climbed a tree and been rescued. Yet, I chose instead to portray the very moment when the Savior, amidst suffering and agony, carried the heavy cross to Golgotha.
For me, this moment eclipses everything else—the streets of the ancient city, the roar of the crowd, and the Roman soldiers, all of whom fade into the background against the weight of this drama.
Jesus Christ’s blood-filled eyes could scarcely have seen those surrounding Him at that very moment.
Yes, this is merely a sketch—one that I might be able to expand upon and improve as I hone my drawing skills—but for now, this is what I have managed to create.
Wishing everyone a blessed day!

You are fast and even though you said you never sold a drawing I can imagine your October entries being bundled accompanied by your text and sold as a book. I would buy it.

That’s probably why I’m drawing two images on a single A4 sheet—so they can eventually be folded into a booklet, or—lol, let’s aim higher—a massive tome :)
I hadn't really considered that option yet, but I have a feeling that if this book does get published, it’ll be incredibly expensive. After all, not every print shop would agree to produce a single copy—lol—since there’s only one customer for the book, and that’s you :)

That is very smart. Does it mean all your drawings are perfect and you never make a mess out of it like me?
There is lulu... They only print on command. It might be a good option

At one point, the idea of creating my own series of postage stamps crossed my mind. I approached the printing divisions at main post offices to see if this could be arranged; I was ready to pay for the print run, provided the series would be listed in the stamp catalogs of the countries where they were issued.
However, they all told me that while I could issue a stamp series, it would fall under the "private stamp" category—meaning no inclusion in official catalogs.
Sure, they could be exchanged for cash at face value at the post office, or the post office could sell them, but collectors wouldn't find them interesting.
Essentially, it’s a "vanity project"—a chance to beat your chest and say, "I have my own postage stamp!"
It’s not a bad idea, or perhaps just a way to cure boredom if you have plenty of spare cash and don't know what else to do with it other than amuse yourself this way.
The idea of publishing my drawings that you mentioned reminds me of something—lol: I’d keep one copy, give a couple to distant relatives, and sell one to you—the potential client who showed interest, lol.
It’s all just a game, not a real business. But speaking of real business: if you’re the type of person who believes they can sell anything to anyone, you could try selling my drawings as my art manager... how does that sound? :)
And yes, as I’ve said, I’m not perfect at anything—including drawing—but I’ve never crumpled up a single sheet of paper in all this time... I hate wasting such valuable cellulose, lol. Instead, I try to mask any mistakes right there on the same sheet.
I like your topic and it is really one of the topics that made me think. I was not sure why he decided to do that to lead people and to try to make them good, human will never be changed we can change one of two maybe a group but never can change everyone. To take the sins of everyone is very silly because it will not be valued. Of course, I hoped that Jesus will really born again because he deserves that. Glad that you are still on top of the daily drawing!

Some matters cannot be explained in a few words; highly intelligent people spend years—indeed, their entire lives—trying to grasp the truth without ever fully finding it. That is where the principle of "accepting it by faith" comes in.
I am not the most intelligent person, nor do I measure up to many great Christian thinkers, but I will try to explain the reason for and purpose of Jesus Christ’s path as I understand it.
To begin, let us recall the wager between Aesop and his master, the philosopher Xanthus, regarding the challenge to "drink the sea."
No one can drink the sea, for countless tributaries flow into it—tributaries that no one can block—and so Aesop won the wager.
Now, let us turn to the Jews—the people chosen by God. They took great pride in this status and strove to fulfill the Law of Moses, yet they looked down upon other nations—calling them Hellenes or by other names—deeming them unworthy of God's attention.
God gave Moses the Law, yet not a single Jew could fulfill it; no matter how hard they tried, there was always an influx of sin and temptation—whether in the form of wealth, pride, or debauchery.
Jesus Christ was the only one who fulfilled the Law given by God, for it could only be fulfilled by the One who gave it to the Jews in the first place: God Himself.
The concept of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—is very difficult to comprehend. Yet we, too, are complex beings, possessing mind, soul, and body. Jesus Christ also possessed a body—a body that was broken and sent to the cross as a sacrifice for the atonement of humanity's sins. Furthermore... among the Jews, only the High Priest had access to the Holy of Holies in the Temple; yet Jesus Christ tore down the veil between God and humanity. Now, anyone—not just a priest—can turn to God in prayer, and there is no need to offer a sacrifice, for it has already been made for each of us on the Cross.
Perhaps I haven't explained this as well as I could have; this is a topic vast enough to fill a hundred War and Peace novels—hardly something for a single comment :)
Oh, and one more thing: Jesus Christ never tried to "sell" anything or vie for attention; He left the choice of faith entirely up to those who listened to Him—He wasn't an entertainer at a children's party :)

Not only is your drawing of Jesus carrying the cross wonderful, but so is this commentary—so educational and easy to understand. Warm regards.
No solo tu dibujo de Jesús cargando el madero es maravilloso, sino también este comentario tan educativo y fácil de entender. Un abrazo.

Thank God, He helped me with the work, for He knows just how imperfect I am at drawing :)
To me, you are a great artist.

Do I probably need to draw a black triangle, or some other shape, to hold onto this title? :)
I’m very behind on the challenge. I think I’ll leave some tasks aside and pick things back up starting tomorrow.
The emotion really comes through even as a sketch, you can almost feel how heavy that cross was. The price that was paid for us... truly a deep way to capture what rescue means.
