The trimmed roots of delicious treats.
The trimmed roots of delicious treats.
Everything, including all kinds of delicious treats, has roots that trace back to the person or culture where they first appeared.
For example, the salad many prepare for holidays, called Olivier, is supposed to trace back to Monsieur Olivier, the restaurateur of the Hermitage restaurant of French descent.
But over the years, the salad has undergone many changes, and now, saying it's an Olivier salad is like saying a Chihuahua is a wolf.
This is probably the same with the Turkish dessert called Brownie, which my daughter made.
The recipe may have been followed, but the dessert is definitely no longer Turkish, and that's easy to prove.
Where is Turkey, and where am I?
Well, Türkiye can breathe a sigh of relief, because now this is not a Turkish brownie, but my Brownie, at least the piece I'm going to eat!
