Is starving the right way to lose weight

in #health9 hours ago

There are many ways to lose weight, some healthy and some very unhealthy. These unhealthy ways are generally easy then doing it the right way. A lot of people believe that by starving and not eating you will lose weight, and that's true. If your body has no food, it will start using up the stored fats and over a prolonged period of time you will see the weight loss. But the question is, is this the right way to for weight loss. Not nourishing your body with the required daily nutrition can cause many other health issues and it's going to make one weak eventually. Along with stored fat, there will be loss of bone density, and muscle fat also. Which over a period of time will make your bones brittle, and no physical energy due to low muscle fat, leaving them very weak.

Starving and fasting are two different things. Fasting is a very systematic way of weight loss and also it helps in eliminating many other health issues. When you break your fast, you ensure that you are having a wholesome meal, rich in proteins. Fasting helps in setting a discipline for the body to not eat at odd hours and junk up your body. But when you starve your body of food, you will end up eating very little and not even being mindful about the nutrition level. In fasting you will not feel weak and tired, but when you starve yourself of food then you surely feel lethargic and low on energy.

Weight loss is never right if some amount of exercise is not included in the routine. Only relying on diet, will bring change but the muscle weakness will start developing. So, the best way to lose weight is by having a disciplined food routine and doing exercise. Both together will work wonderfully and give you healthy results in the end. In starving, the weight will come down, but as soon as you start eating, the weight will again come back equally fast. A lot of people fail here.

A friend of mine recently wanted to do some weight loss, so she went with the starving method. No exercise at all, because she feels that the movement on the job she makes is enough. I keep telling her that's not the right way, because just walking and office movements do not build up muscle strength. You actually need to do cardio and strength training. When we are young the side effects do not show on the body, but with ageing it all starts showing up.
