Art Explained by a Writer: Sommarnöjr (1886)
"Summer Fun? I thought you’d be waiting for me."
He smiled.
"Sorry, you missed the boat. What’s the point of taking you with me? Woman, it’s summer. I need to wind down a bit. We’ll see each other again in six weeks, maybe in eight or twelve."

EN
No wind in the sails
View... Out of sight
Oars pulled in
Waves rock the boat
– a sigh of relief –
No sign of the wind
Surrounded by air and water
In a grey world
Summer finally arrived.
Swedish
Ingen vind i seglen
Utsikt över... Utanför synfältet
Årorna indragna
Vågorna får båten att gunga
– en suck av lättnad –
Vinden tystnar
Omgiven av luft och vatten
I en grå värld
Har sommaren äntligen kommit.
NL
Geen wind in de zeilen
Uit zicht
Roeispanen ingetrokken
Golven laten de boot schommelen
– een zucht van verlichting –
De wind zwijgt
Omringd door lucht en water
In een grijze wereld
Is de zomer eindelijk aangebroken.

This poem is full of irony. Summer is for vacations. So it's not a bad thing at all for married couples to take a few days off to do whatever they want, because believe it or not, some marriages are very similar to the torture of a school year with an annoying teacher, hehe.

True though there are also marriages where the two rarely see another. I assume both are happy and have fun for a few weeksm let's hope she is still there after his return.
How far will he get with that boat?
Hahaha. I don't think I can get very far, hehe.
So, summer is for men to get away from the women. It's actually nice for the latter too coz it's true summer break for her not having to pick up after the mess her man made
🤣🤣🤣
Who knows what she has planned. Can be she knows him very well, and he will leave if she keeps asking to spend the summer together
Haha. Could be. Playing mind games with him.
