Research that leads to a dead end.
Research that leads to a dead end.
Sometimes, you have to spend time on some research that seems interesting, but ultimately hits a dead end, a point that prevents you from moving forward, but somehow protects you from something lol.
For example, I decided to find out the specifications and price of a gardening device called a branch shredder.
It's not cheap, but considering the very high price of natural gas in Moldova, purchasing such a device would be justified by installing a solid fuel pyrolysis boiler instead of a gas heating boiler.
I've seen many videos of people collecting branches from their gardens, shredding them, and heating their house with practically free fuel. When will the branch shredder pay for itself? lol.
But, along the way, I decided to check the Moldovan legal framework regarding the legality of collecting tree branches; I knew that cutting down and removing trees from the forest was prohibited.
As it turns out, even collecting thin fallen branches is prohibited, with heavy fines.
I mentally imagined someone who spent a lot of money on such a device but didn't do any proper research, naively believing that they were a Moldovan citizen, and all the country's resources were their legal property, and the country wouldn't let them freeze in the winter. LOL.
Especially since collecting rotting branches is a kind of sanitary cleaning of the forest. But the law is one thing, and knowledge of the biological processes of the forest is something the future lawyers who created such laws didn't learn in biology class.
t's sad that you can't collect branches, mushrooms, berries, and medicinal herbs.
I don't recommend spending money on a wood chipper or even a dehydrator to dry forest produce there; it could cost you even more if you get fined for picking something in the forest.
