Hello my dear Steemians,

 

Today I have day of practicing drawing with ink. I love to draw popular people and one of them is Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. I am impressed with his strong leader character and how he is inspiring not only his own landsmen but also the whole world. He is tirelessly doing his best to get support for his country that he would like to see free.

As for artist, he has very distinct facial features. That is a reason why I love to take him for my drawing.

This time I decided to take ballpoint pen with ink, that means I can not erase any mistake if there is a mistake I only could to draw over or to do shading to make them less distinct or I should be very careful and should try to avoid mistakes.

 

 

I usually start any drawing from eyes somehow I like to do left eye maybe because it is close to my right hand and then right eye, from there on it is then goes to nose and only then I either do the oval of face of mouth.

 

 

Here is now the face, of course, the person here has beard and I just need to make sure that the distances are equal to facial details.

 

 

Now there is a face, ears and hair. While you look at this drawing you probably also noticed that my portrait is too big and I run out of the edges because ther eis not enough space for hair and for right ear.

 

 

Here I thought to do more shading and started from eyes, it was not so bad, I liked it. Later on when I started to do hair I only noticed that it is too much. That was my mistake this time because my final drawing looks too dark.

My verdict: I do not like how dark it became, still not good work on eyes, nose and too dark on forehead and hair need to be improve. When I looked at my final drawing I had one thought:

“Less is more” For the future I will do less shading and not too dark portrait.

That only means there will be another portrait of Mr. Zelensky :)
