Is India a good place to live?

A lot of Indians complaint about living in India, only until they go to a foreign land and live over there. Honestly, I love my country and love living there. If a person is financially well secured then there is no better place then India to live. There are so many benefits of living here. When I moved to Oman, I was looking for a helper who would do the daily cleaning work, I managed to find the help but I had to pay a good big salary. What I pay in India to my full time helper who is always staying with my son and taking care of the home 24x7, the same money I had to pay for a 2 hour 6 days a week help here and that too with a limited job. Same with the cook, I have to pay double to a cook here then what I pay in India. And it's not that in India I under pay them, I pay them as per the normal market rate. Other things are still better here in Oman so there is not much to complaint, else I would not be living here for so long.

But then I know of so many western countries, where daily help has exorbitant prices and people have to do all the house chores by themselves. Medical facilities are top notch and convenient in India, where as so many western countries suffer on that. My friend staying in one of the European countries, she had a Thyroid condition, she would not get Doctor's appointment out there easily, the treatment was slow and sloppy which made her condition worst. Finally she came to India and got herself treated and within 3 months time she felt better.

Also the social life suffers in many of these places. In India we have so much to always celebrate, families come together and celebrate, all this is good for one's mental wellbeing, we underestimate the importance of these festivals, they really help boost our mental, emotional health.

Well India is associated with corruption and poverty. But what I see is, in every place there is corruption, some have it on a big scale and some on small. Even the best of the Countries have it, so that's not making India any less. Poverty is there still and in open, that's undeniable. We have big population and with that poverty also comes in to picture. Along with it, there are ample opportunities also to work on. With big population there are ample of business opportunities also. Trust me majority of Indians have a much better and high lifestyle then the rich people of the western world. The spending power of Indians is also very good.

Some people do not believe this, we can get our groceries within 15 minutes at our home, our bank can also come home if needed, any service we need can be called home. Which makes it so convenient for the old people. Sitting here in Oman I manage all my Mumbai home shopping and groceries on the phone for my son. He gets busy with his work and does not remember, and I can conveniently do it from home. All repair works also I can manage services easily from home.

If you have money then there is no better place to live then India. There is value for money, comfort, good and reasonable private healthcare compared to other countries and also easy availability of all resources and services. It saves so much of time and energy.
