RE: Building for Steem’s Next Chapter: An Introduction to Substeem

Ambitious and straightforward: that will at least get you some attention and interest. I'm curious to see what your ideas actually look like...

Thanks for reading and for the candid feedback @weisser-rabe — and especially for the support.

Healthy skepticism is completely justified here. Steem has seen plenty of grand whitepapers, token schemes, and promises over the years that ended in vaporware. We have zero interest in repeating that history.

Our approach with Substeem is practical:

  1. Lightweight tooling over walled gardens: Build modular creator and community tools that leverage Steem L1’s zero-fee, fast-block speed without forcing users into complex off-chain layers.
  2. Real economic sinks: Design actual utility and burn/stake mechanisms for communities rather than relying on endless inflation and circular reward-pool farming.
  3. Build in public: We don't intend to stay in the "conceptual essay" phase for long. Our next updates will be focused on working UI prototypes, architecture breakdowns, and testable code.

We're looking forward to sharing the technical blueprints in the coming posts and would value your critique once the working pieces are live.

I'll definitely always be happy to share my opinion with you. The only problem is: I probably have no idea what you'll be writing about ;-)) @moecki - I bet you'll be the one translating for the clueless ones...?

I don't know...
Somehow, when someone makes such mysterious announcements, it usually doesn't amount to much. We'll see...
