Delightful long drive
Driving in monsoon is the most delightful thing for me. Yes, but not when it is raining heavily because then it is a matter of risk also. In moderate rains driving up to the hills feels magical, there are greens all around and the weather is soft and calming. I started from Mumbai and my destination was Lonavala which is a hill station 2 hours away from Mumbai. During the weekend this drive is not advisable as there is lot of traffic but weekdays it is a pleasure.
On the way there are couple of food courts and rest area but I prefer to drive straight through without any halts. In 2 hours' drive I do not feel a need to get freshen up or eat anything, so better to not interrupt the drive.
Sharing some pictures from the journey. At some points we slowed down to take pictures. It feels beautiful when you are driving through these ghats with greenery around and the clouds below.
